Hi! I’m Julie.

Born and raised in Indianapolis, I earned my bachelor’s in psychology and business from Bellarmine University, where I also played competitive tennis. After a brief career as a bank manager in Indianapolis, I realized my true calling was making a difference in the lives of children. This passion is inspired by my mother, a lifelong educator.

I returned to Bellarmine to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching. Today, I am a licensed Elementary Education teacher and an Orton-Gillingham trained Literacy Specialist with over 13 years of experience across elementary, resource, special education, and PE classrooms.

I absolutely love helping struggling readers build confidence. There is nothing more rewarding than watching the "lightbulb" go on and seeing a student realize what they are truly capable of achieving.

My husband and I have 3 children: two twin boys in college and a daughter in high school. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading (of course!), watching my daughter’s soccer games, teaching swim lessons, playing tennis, riding bikes, and kayaking on Eagle Creek. In the summer time, when I am not tutoring or teaching swim lessons at the JCC, you can find me reading on my kindle while swimming and treading water in the deep end of the JCC’s pool.
